If you’re intimidated about where to start with your new Android device, or you’re a long-time Google fan looking to round out your collection of critical tools, this is the list for you. I’ve spent many hours refining that unmanageable mass of apps to come up with the 10 apps
Among the million-plus apps in Google Play are these 10 essentials you simply cannot do without
1 AirDroid — Contrary to what it may seem sometimes, most of us don’t use our phones as our sole means of computer interaction. AirDroid, though, will let you bypass jumping from one device to another, giving you remote access to everything on your phone via a web browser — even text messages. That could be especially handy if you’re at work and it’s frowned upon for you to text with a friend. It’s a feature that’s so useful, you wonder why it’s not a standard feature in Android
2 Evernote Evernote is your list keeper, note taker, voice recorder, to-do manager, webpage clipper, and all-around digital multi-tool. It’s overwhelming at first, but you’ll quickly find a vast number of ways to put it to good use. My favorite feature is optical character recognition (OCR), which makes text in photos searchable. Next time you get handed a business card, just snap a picture, and all the critical information will be captured and made searchable between all of your devices and computers, as well as accessible on the Web.
3 Snapseed Snapseed is a photo editing app that Google acquired in 2012. Snapseed has 25 tools including crop, rotate, perspective, brush, white balance and vignette. And Snapseed supports the ability to edit RAW DNG files.
One of my favorite Snapseed features is Lens Blur, which adds a Bokeh effect to images. And there is a glamour glow feature that works well for fashion shoots and portraits. Some of the other filters include HDR Scape, Drama, Grunge, Grainy Film, Vintage, Retrolux, Noir and Black and White. Snapseed also supports frames. And you can add focus to the eyes and add face-specific lighting.
4 Pushbullet One of the best things about using an iPhone and a Mac is that some of the iPhone’s notifications will show up on your computer, and you can even interact with them from there. There’s nothing like that built into Android, but Push Bullet can make that happen. Install it on your phone and then install the desktop client on your Mac or PC, and your phone’s notifications should get sent through. Push Bullet isn’t perfectly reliable, but it works more often than it doesn’t — and the feature is too convenient to pass up.
5 Audio Recorder For some reason, Android doesn’t come with a voice recorder (not stock Android, at least). I’ve tried a bunch of them, and this nondescript one from Sony is the best. It’s simple, it’s free, and it has some straightforward and simple options. One quick word of warning: don’t record in the top quality unless you need it — it’s a nice option, but the files take up a ton of space.
“Just because it’s cold outside, it doesn’t mean you have to quit capturing. Winter photography can be magical, heart healing..
Come out and capture some of those nature’s frozen aura ..
Irrespective or places, winter is beautiful everywhere, even a simple roadside image could look like God’s wall street.
